While Abel and Zocolo is a small law firm of three attorneys, we are able to punch far above our weight thanks to the efforts of our carefully cultivated team of support staff. While theirs are the voices you will hear answering the phone when you call our office, and the hands you will first shake when you step into our office for your initial consultation, these vital members of the team also perform legal research, case management, and document preparation functions under the close supervision of our attorneys.
Rita Klement, Office Manager: After spending a lifetime devoted to helping others, most recently as a highly-revered school principal, Rita now acts as our office’s venerable administrator. With a keen sense organization of and an unparalleled ability to keep things running smoothly, Rita ensures that the attorneys are able to dedicate 100% of their efforts devoted to helping our clients navigate the most difficult parts of their lives. Outside of the office, Rita can usually be found volunteering for countless efforts in her local community.
Teri Koons, Billing Clerk: Behind every legal practice is an expert in numbers, and Teri has been crunching ours for over a decade. As our billing clerk, Teri ensures that clients receive prompt, detailed, and accurate billing statements from our office each month. Teri supplements her time here with another position as a school’s Administrator of Special Education, and might otherwise be found tending to her treasured garden or spending time with her beloved family.
Genia Moiseenko, Paralegal: Keeping up with the volume of correspondence and legal documents required to make sure each deadline is met and every client is kept constantly aware of how their case is progressing is no easy task. For Genia, however, there is no task too big or small, as she works tirelessly to make sure that each and every one of our client’s cases remains up-to-date each day. Genia, who is currently a second-year student in pursuit of a Paralegal Studies degree from Cuyahoga Community College, enjoys spending her free-time outdoors and dreams of one day becoming a real estate attorney.
Michael B. Watson: Michael supports the work of our attorneys by performing research, drafting and reviewing legal pleadings, and filing documents with the local courts. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is now a third-year law student at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Currently, Michael divides his time between our office and working as a Certified Legal Intern with Community Legal Aid where he litigates family law cases on behalf of domestic violence survivors.
